Ever since Senator John McCain (R-AZ) the GOP presidential nominee announced his surprise selection of Governor Sara Palin of Alaska as his Vice President Sun-Times columnist Mary Mitchell has been hammering away at Palin. This commentary is an attempt to respond to Mitchell and her charges.

I’m kind of EMBARRASSED for the Republicans!!
First they have to pretend they support a D-list soccer mom for the second highest post in the land, then they have to pretend the GOP ticket represents “change” even as they support the failed Bush policies that created the stock market melt-down, and FINALLY, they have to pretend these two clowns are “mavericks” as they stonewall the Trooper-gate investigation!
The level of Machiavellian deception is astounding! I do see both Bush and Cheney blushing as a women is playing their game one better than even KKKarl Rove could have schemed!
What a joke!
There is no need to be embarrassed for the Republicans.
No one has to pretend to support anyone. Sara Palin is not a D-list candidate. There is change represented by this ticket. Mr. McCain did stand up many times against things this administration wanted. There are Republicans that can’t stand him becasue he did not support President Bush straight down the ticket. McCain did attempt to bring the Fannie and Freddie issue to our attention some time ago but no one, not even Democrats wanted to listen. They are not stalling trooper-gate. It is people within the GOP establishment of Alaska that are blocking the investigation from going forward. Many Republican supporters of Palin in the AK legislature sued, the AG refused the subpoenas, and the top Republican that originally supported the investigation becasue the top Democrat on the investigative panel made a political comment.
There is no Machievelli here. Karl Rove, Bush, adn Cheney are the discrage.
This is no joke.
